I would like to have a dash cam on my bike sometimes.
Drivers are so stupid and self centred. They pull out in front of us, fling car doors open, cut us off, etc.
You might want to try an action camera. They have mounts made specifically
for mounting on bikes and the good ones have a mode that will correct for
any shaking the bike might do.
Two caveats -- the best ones are expensive, but there are some affordable
ones out there that take video that should be more than good enough for
your needs.
-- Action cams take good daylight footage but, if you bike at night, it
will come out darker than most good car dash cams. Depending on where the footage is taken, you might not be able to see much if it is not a well lit area.
I recently bought an Akaso Brave 6+ that works pretty well. It can record
4K video, but I prefer the 1080p with the highest framerate (which is
higher than the highest 4k rate).
There is also an Akaso Brave 7 out. It has screens on both sides, but they apparently sacrificed photo quality for adding the second screen. Most reviewers prefer the older 6+.
