How about we rename Fidonet to Wardnet or Dosschenet?

He won't give up his power until he dies. This is clearly a dictatorship.

He keeps saying, "It's just about maintaining the nodelist," then turns around and threatens people with excommunication. On top of that, he complains that he doesn't even get paid for the job.

He let a member of Fidonet file a lawsuit against him. How pathetic and irresponsible is it for Ward to let things get that far instead of trying to calm the situation down?

Ward acts like a typical dictator.

His supporters (bootlickers) keep voting for him - that's how he wins every election.

Fidonet became Ward's personal network with his own slaves, what's the purpose of calling it Fidonet?

There is no power whatsoever. He maintains and distributes the Z2
nodelist, just like others maintain their respective segments as well.

It's one of the biggest misconceptions that there's indeed no power to be had in Fidonet.

Those with *C status have been/are accused of this, but that's simply ignorance.You just try to do the best you can, and then you just take that one guy who's been dealing with heartburn for 30 years and let him rant if it makes him happy. There are pills for heartburn, by the way.

I'm not sure there are pills for obsessions like that, though. Which is why I had to throw that /Billy Madison/ reference in there, as that's what I pictured he would be doing. You're just next in line on his list.

Most of the time I forget I'm a *C, until an applicant is sent my way, or I have to make nodelist adjustments. Otherwise, it's definitely nothing exciting to brag about. Taking on extra responsibilities for free, basically.

While he may have told you to go piss up a rope, or pound sand. He never threatened excommunication (as far as I can tell, the only person using this word is you), which is pretty much impossible these days unless /everyone/ here that sees your crazy obsession with Ward, all of a sudden decide they don't want to see it any more, at the exact same time. Those may have been the rules back then. Even now, if the system that feeds you mail doesn't want to any more, it's ultimately their choice. However, you could have easily found another feed for your mail.

Maybe Ward thought it was none of his business, and had other, more important things to deal with than a guy that likes to insult people after injesting too much vodka?

I don't know, I wasn't there. Either way, you could have done much more than waiting 30+ years to cry about it to an audience that don't know you and/or never heard of you.

I'm basing my observations of you from a 30 year old movie (Billy Madison). That's all I can picture while reading your messages where you carry on with your obsession with Ward.

If you hate everything and everyone you talk to in Fidonet, maybe you should try something new? I'd be willing to bet Reddit is looking for more dousche bags to add to their collection!

Keep it up, though.. and you may just end up in everyone's twit filter. Then you can continue your obsession all by your self with nobody to reply to you. Why do I have a feeling you'd keep talking, even if it was to yourself? ;)
