Oh.. I've long since changed the background/boot up image. I've disabled the "windows" sounds so no hello/goodbye jingle. I usually go into standby to get back where I left off quickly.

Iv'e also changed the background image. Really I described the original image only because it's one that I can't get out of my head. That's not a bad thing necessarily because it's iconic. I wonder if ther'll ever be a national exhibition of OS wallpapers?
