    Description:
Disney+ confirms UK price hike just days after raising prices in the US, and all plans are affected.

    FULL STORY

Days after we reported the latest Disney+ price hike for US customers , we
can now confirm the change will affect those in the UK too.

One of the best streaming services has announced price increases across every single subscription, including ad-free plans. This came into effect on September 30.

It's been a turbulent time for Disney's streaming service as recently,
Disney+, Hulu and ESPN suffered a major blow after millions of fans
reportedly closed their accounts over the Jimmy Kimmel row.

Sure, and not streaming services only. People is subscribed to too much stuff. I have heard there are agencies out there people is hiring to identify unused subscriptions so people can remove them. How crazy is that?

I am not convinced subscriptons nowadays are cost-effective. When a Netflix plan was 7 bucks per month, it could be. Now it is more than twice that. For 14 bucks I can buy the series in used DVD packs which will last more than a month, and after I am done with it I still have it (as opposed to a subscription, in which once you are done with it you have nothing).

Game subscriptions are situational, but they are going down the drain too. You could justify them somehow when you got to pay under 30 bucks per month and then hurry up and beat some game whose release price is above that. The issue is people is not doing that, people is trying to make the most out of the subscriptions and try to experience as many games as possible per month, which means they play a short while every game before they jump to the next. Compared to that, you can buy a full indie game such as BallisticNG and focus on it until you have 100% completed it, and by the time you are done with it, you will have spent 20 bucks for many months of fun, deep gameplay.

They've got to make up for all of those subscribers who cancelled their
    service, somehow...

That, too. "I am going to cancel my Disney+ because ABC cancelled
Kimmel!!! (...and not because I am also not using it.)."

I have been leary of streaming. There are a lot of shows on some of them
that sound interesting but needing umpteen subscriptions just to watch them
all would cost me a lot more than cable currently does.

They advertise those services often on US TV and on social media. I think one could do that for oneself for free just by looking closely at your credit card bills and/or bank statements each month. OTOH, with so many people going paperless, I wonder how many of them actually keep track of what charges
are on the bills and statements each month.
